OSDC & Brisbane PHP Group

So a colleague and I are at the Open Source Developers Conference here at Brisbane. We flew in yesterday afternoon, checked into the hotel at the conference center and began to mingle. Met a nice gentlemen named Gary Curtis who kindly offered to take us out for the evening. Even more surprising was the fact that he was taking us to the Brisbane PHP Group which happened to be on that night!

So we got to the group and mingled until the presentation began. The presenter, Andrew Mee, did a fantastic job presenting on MongoDb, a very interesting and different approach for dealing with data. Alcohol was a great incentive at the group, rewarding those who introduced themselves with a beer - Something we may try in the future at Syd PHP ;).

After the presentation, we all headed out to "A Night in India" and had a great meal and chat, then we left there completely stuffed and satisfied - A good night!

I would like to thank the organiser, Coen Hyde and the rest of the regulars at the group for making us welcome and hope to join you all again in the future some time.
I've added the photos to our sydphp flickr stream (which have appeared before this post), but for the full set of photos you can view them at the link below.
