March meeting… 5 days!
Presentation
Managing hydrodynamic models with PHP, Andrew Goodwin
This presentation will focus on the use of PHP scripts and classes to manage spatial and temporal data used in Hydrodynamic modelling.
The flood modelling process involves the development of a terrain model, generation of a finite element mesh, collating input data from numerous sources, storing and summarising sizable volumes of output data and mapping the results.
These tasks were achieved using a substantial class library that has been developed in PHP to manage the generation and management of meshes used in the modelling process. The PHP code is most commonly evoked through a command line session and exectuted interactively. MySQL was used to store data at various stages throughout the modelling process.
