October Meeting

The next Sydney PHP Group meeting is just around the corner, this Thursday 2nd October, 6:30pm at CodeGear offices, Sydney.

For this meeting, we'll be taking a further look at the upcoming PHP 5.3 release., this time focusing on Lambda function and Closures.

Read on below for presentation details.

Meetings are a great place to network with (bring your business cards) and meet other developers in the Sydney region, possibly find development work and generally discuss tips and tricks in PHP development face to face with your peers. We currently have upwards of 30 attendees per meeting so please make sure you RSVP prior to coming so that adequate food and drinks can be provided.

If you are a Javascript coder then you'll understand the value of closures... they are coming to PHP in 5.3 and in this presentation Tim will provide a rundown of their syntax, uses and a few examples to boot. You can find more information on Lambda Functions & Closures at the PHP Wiki
